Metropolitan Atlanta's only museum dedicated to collecting and displaying works of American art, the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art has an extensive collection of 19th and 20th century pieces. It also hosts temporary exhibitions, such as "Celebrating the Thrill," which documents 40 years of Six Flags Over Georgia history, and "Reflections: Celebrating Georgia Women Artists". Situated a block south of historic Marietta Square, the museum is 18 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.
